Mobile Phones More Germ-Ridden Than Toilets

If you are a hygiene fanatic, you will no doubt have an aversion to touching the usual germ-ridden areas i.e. toilets, dirty shoes and public hand rails. But it turns out nasties are lurking more closely than you may have realised. Namely, all over your mobile phone.

According to a recent study in the UK, the average mobile phone is more unhygienic than the surface of a toilet or the soles of your shoes. However the chance of your mouth being as close to either of these two less of a worry…

Environmental expert Michael Andrew told the Los Angeles Times that we touch about 10 million bacteria every time we have contact with our desk, so it’s no surprise our mobiles take the brunt.

Our tip? Keep some anti-bacterial wipes handy and give your phone the once over to prevent it becoming a bacteria breed ground!
